There are no formal academic entry requirements for any part of the Examinations. However, all candidates must be members of BCS and can join as student members at the time of entry. Candidates who allow their BCS membership to lapse will be required to reinstate their membership.
Candidates are strongly urged to read the accompanying Notes for Guidance and to take account of any prior knowledge expected in the Syllabus.

4. Principles of Internet Technologies (this module replaces the Internet & World Wide Web module and is not available for online registration)
5. IT Project Management
6. IT Service Management
7. Object Oriented Programming
8. Software Engineering
9. Principles of User Interface Design
Method of Assessment:
The course culminates in a 2 hour written exam focusing on the one core module and each of the three optional modules of your choice.
Professional Project
In order to finish the Diploma in IT level candidates must complete a project.

10. Web Engineering (this module replaces the WWW - Beyond the Basics module and is not available for online registration)
11. Realising the User Interface (this module replaces the User Interface Design module and is not available for online registration)
12. IT and the Environment (this is a new module and will be examined for the first time in September 2012) Sample examination paper and answer pointers
Method of Assessment:
The course culminates in a 3 hour written exam focusing on any four of the above modules of your choice. Please be aware that practical experience is required to answer some parts of the exam.
Professional Project
In order to finish the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT level candidates must complete a project.
ABE Assessment:
The three hour written external examinations are held twice a year (usually the first week in June & December). ABE Manages the entire examination process
